Overview
The East Lancashire Masonic Charity, in conjunction with the Manchester Association for Masonic Research, is to re-establish a new masonic Library and Museum at Manchester Hall, Bridge Street, Manchester, and we are seeking dedicated volunteers to fill crucial roles across technical, academic, and creative areas. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a meaningful cultural initiative and play a key role in the project’s development.
About the Library and Museum Project
The rejuvenated Library and Museum aims to offer an in-depth exploration of Masonic history, culture, and influence, both within local communities and beyond. The museum will feature displays, exhibits, and events designed to engage the general public with the rich heritage of Freemasonry. Our extensive collection of Masonic texts and artefacts is ready to be shared, and with your support, we aim to make these treasures accessible for all to enjoy and learn more about the world of Freemasonry.
Volunteer Roles Available
To achieve our initial goals, we aim to recruit individuals with a diverse range of skills and attributes. Each role offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with team members and, most importantly, play a direct role in shaping the project. These positions are ideal for volunteers with experience in project management and teamwork or those eager to develop these valuable skills.
Time Commitment
We understand that availability varies. Ideally, we shall ask volunteers to commit to a minimum of a few hours per week on-site in Manchester, and/or our storage and workshop facility at Salford. Longer-term involvement is welcome, but shorter-term volunteers will also play an invaluable role.
